CARE Outpatient Center: Providing essential clinical care for non-COVID-19 patients

Hyderabad, 21st April 2021: The coronavirus outbreak has profoundly impacted the delivery of essential healthcare and management practices in core clinical settings across the globe. During the COVID-19 pandemic era we have observed health rationing, which has affected many lives. Against the backdrop of the grave outcomes associated with the spread of COVID-19 infection, it is important that, wherever possible, clinical management of non-COVID conditions is not seriously compromised.

However, patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI), stroke, severe trauma and acute appendicitis visiting for emergency care has not decreased. Door-to-balloon time for AMI improved significantly while door-to-needle time in stroke management remained steady, simultaneously, time-sensitive care involving other clinical services including patients requiring chemotherapy, radiation therapy and hemodialysis has not changed.

Keeping these in view, CARE Outpatient Center on at Road No.10 Banjara Hills has implemented a strategic system of treating non-Covid 19 cases.

Dr. Rahul Medakkar, HCOO, CARE Hospitals, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad said “The CARE Outpatient Centre is well equipped to perform various surgeries in the subspecialties of ophthalmology, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, cosmetology, vascular and ENT. Procedures like urogenital surgery, chronic pain treatment by specialists and other kinds of general surgeries can also be performed at the center without the need for an overnight stay.”

“The advanced technology at the Integrated Outpatient Centre will allow CARE Hospitals to improve patient experience, handle larger volumes and drive faster turnaround times. They will also provide the healthcare givers an opportunity to widen the range of services offered,” he added.

An independent, stand-alone Outpatient Centre offers a wide array of outpatient services at a single dedicated location in a facility optimized for outpatient consultations. One of the key services provided by the CARE Outpatient Centre is ambulatory surgery or daycare surgery for services wherein post-operative observation is not required. Such surgeries have now become possible due to improved technology and are an accepted method of treatment for many patients where overnight stay at a hospital is not required.

CARE Outpatient Centre, India’s largest integrated outpatient centre, located in the heart of Hyderabad at Road no. 10, Banjara Hills, is spread across 1,85,000 sq. feet area with 100 Doctor Consultation Rooms, 6 fully equipped operation theatres, dedicated ICU Beds, 26-bed dialysis units. 150 consultants spread across 6 floors at the Outpatient Centre provide the best-in-class facilities with adherence to international medical standards.
