AP Governor participates in meeting of National Committee for commemoration of 75th anniversary of independence
Vijayawada, March 08: Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, who has been nominated as a member of the National Committee for the commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence, participated in the first meeting of the committee held on Monday through video conference from Raj Bhavan.
The high-level National committee for commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence has been constituted by the Government of India under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Former President of India Pratibha Patil, former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikharjun Kharge, former Lok Sabha Speakers, Meera Kumar, Sumitra Mahajan, BJP National President J.P. Nadda, spoke during the meeting and offered their suggestions on various aspects to be taken into account as part of the year-long celebrations of the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence in a befitting manner.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the members and said there were many unsung heroes who contributed to the freedom movement in their own way by taking the movement to the nook and corner of the country and their stories should be brought out and highlighted as part of the 75th-anniversary celebrations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid out different themes – Ideas@75, Achievements@75, Actions@75, Resolve@75 to be focused on during the celebrations duly keeping the dreams and aspirations of the 130 crore population of the country in view. The Prime Minister said the present generations did not get the opportunity to fight for the freedom of the country but we got the opportunity now to work hard for the development of the country. He said India is doing everything now which was thought to be impossible to be done some time ago. Union Home Minister Amith Shah coordinated the meeting.
Andhra Pradesh Lady Governor participates in Women’s Day celebrations at Raj Bhavan
First Lady of AP and Lady Governor Suprava Harichandan participated in the International Women’s Day celebrations organized by women employees at Durbar Hall in AP Raj Bhavan on Monday.
Lady Governor Suprava Harichandan congratulated women employees on the occasion of International Women’s Day and said it is a very important day for all women as it is celebrated in recognition of their contribution to society and the equal role played by women in the nation-building Suprava Harichandan participated in the cutting of a cake and distributed gifts to women employees of A.P. Raj Bhavan on the occasion. V. Nagamani, Joint Secretary to Governor, and other women employees of A.P. Raj Bhavan felicitated Lady Governor Suprava Harichandan with a shawl and a memento.
