Continental Hospitals organize “free” awareness session on ‘Syncope’
Hyderabad, February 20th, 2021: Continental Hospitals, one of the leading healthcare providers in the city today organized a ‘free’ awareness and management session to help patients and their family members overcome ‘Syncope’, an ailment that leads to a sudden loss of consciousness due to drop in blood flow to the brain. Many times, victims are not aware of this condition and even ignore it, leading to a more dangerous situation with time.
Named “Khayal Aapka”, which means ‘We Care For You’, this awareness session was conducted by Dr. Jayakeerthi Y Rao, Consultant Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist, who helped participants to understand personal problems associated with this ailment, especially among the aged population, who could be at a higher risk of getting adversely impacted.

Today we discussed on syncope as a common condition that affects 3% of men and 3.5% of women at some point in life. Syncope is more common as you get older and affects up to 6% of people over age 75.
