Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, 1 December 2022: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed the health department officials to complete the recruitment of medical staff in the coming weeks and ensure facial recognition for attendance during the review meeting at his camp office in Tadepalli on Thursday.
 
“All the people in the state should be aware of Aarogyasri empaneled hospitals, especially the ANM, MLHP, and Asha workers who should guide the public at the ward and village secretariat level,” said Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.
 
He also advised the officials to give tabs to the medical staff in PHC, CHC, and Village Clinics, who would direct the people toward the Aarogyasri hospitals. Tabs will have all the details like the nearest hospitals with the particular treatment facilities available at the centre.
 
The Chief Minister also directed the officials to ensure the ANM visit to the people’s houses who have availed the Aarogyasri services before clearing the bill to the hospitals.
 
He emphasized speeding up the village clinic works under Nadu-Nedu since it would help the doctors under the Family Doctor concept to function efficiently.
 
“The new medical colleges, which are under various stages of construction, should be expedited. Get in touch with the contractors and counsel them to give results as early as possible,” Chief Minister instructed the officials.
 
Officials informed the chief minister of the progress of the soft launch of the Family Doctor concept in the state and the huge response from the people. “As of 29th November 2022, 7,86,226 patients benefitted from it. 7166 village clinics were covered twice, and 2866 clinics were visited once. After 260 MMUs (Mobile Medical Units) are added in December 2022, all the clinics will be covered as per the fixed schedule,” said the officials.
 
They added that 1.78 lakh hypertension and 1.25 lakh diabetes patients were followed up for treatment. Noting the progress, the Chief Minister advised the officials to provide diet prescriptions to the patients visiting the clinics.
 
2,17,680 Aarogyasri patients were treated under Aarogyasri and consent letters were obtained since its launch in August, said the officials.
 
The Chief Minister instructed the officials to develop an app like DISHA to help the people with medical services including the Aarogyasri benefits. The application shall offer details of the nearest available hospitals to illness-specific clinics, said the Chief Minister.
 
All 3255 procedures in Aarogyasri services should be strengthened along with 104 and 108 services. “Even if one calls 108 instead of 104, those calls should be diverted,” said Chief Minister Jagan.
