Rajasekhar's 'Shekar' movie receives fancy OTT offer deals

OTT platforms never want to miss out on a potential blockbuster that can fetch them new subscribers. They are also mindful of what kind of genres their patrons want. 'Shekar', which is currently in the making, is a seemingly well-realized crime thriller. The Telugu-language film is headlined by the formidable actor Dr. Rajasekhar, while his wife Jeevitha Rajasekhar is wielding the megaphone.

The film is in the news for an interesting reason. The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that the producers of 'Shekar' have been flooded with OTT offers. Streaming players want to buy the film's direct-to-digital release rights for an exciting sum. Since direct-to-service releases attract fancy offers if the content is strong, 'Shekar' is said to be enjoying offers to the tune of Rs 25 Cr each. It has to be seen what decision the producers will take.

The film is an adaptation of 'Joseph' (Malayalam). Rajasekhar has worked hard to get into the right shape for it. Aathmeeya Rajan, Muskan, Prakash Raj, Abhinav Gomatam, Kannada Kishore, Sameer, Tanikella Bharani, Ravi Varma and others are part of the cast. Anup Rubens is setting the songs to tune, besides composing the BGM.
