Bharosa will be a one stop support center for women and child victims all forms of crimes”: Telangana Home Minister

Hyderabad: On July 28th, 2021, foundation stone for the construction of the building of Bharosa centre at Bhagath Singh Nagar, Saroornagar was laid and She Team’s Building, e-Challan, ITMS building at CP Camp Office, LB Nagar was inaugurated by Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Hon’ble Minister for Home, M. Mahender Reddy IPS., DGP, D. Sudheer Reddy MLA, LB Nagar, Hon’ble MLC Surabhi Vani Devi, Hon’ble MLC B. Dayanand and K. Damodar Chairman TSPHCL in the presence of Mahesh Bhagwat Rachakonda.
 
Addressing the media, HM stated that Hon’ble CM has been giving top priority for the safety of women in the state and established 33 she teams that have been working round the clock. HM stated that the Safe City Project of MHA helps to prevent and curb all forms of crimes against women and girl children in public places. He said that of total CCTVs in the country 64 percent are operative only in tri Commissionerate regions in the state and cases are being solved within hours with the help of community CCTV cameras. He further stated that Telangana Police have removed fear from citizens towards Police and friendly policing has become very helpful in problem-solving. He opined that Law and Order plays a vital role in the development and reminded that the state government sanctioned 700 Cr for patrolling vehicles. He commended the patrolling teams for being vigilant all the time towards criminals and appreciated Telangana Police for keeping the state safe.
 
Speaking to the media, DGP M. Mahender Reddy stated that Telangana Police have dedicated themselves for the safety and security of citizens and working tirelessly round the clock. DGP said the CDEWs (Centre for Development and Empowerment of Women) and Bharosa Centers which are being established under Nirbhaya Fund Scheme of Safe City Project by MHA across the country support Women & Children affected by violence offering specialized services. He elaborated the significance of CCTV cameras in crime detection and solving. He stated that a total of 8.5 lakh community CCTV cameras have been arranged across the state in association with the local people and politicians. DGP commended the gesture of D. Sudheer Reddy MLA, LB Nagar for his voluntary contribution for arranging CCTVs with constituency development funds.
 
Addressing the media CP Mahesh Bhagwat IPS stated, aiming to create a safe, secure and empowering environment for women in public places MHA has taken an initiative as Safe City Project. As a part of this Safe City Project, out of a total of 30 CDEWs proposed in Hyderabad, 7 are sanctioned for Rachakonda and one Bharosa centre is proposed for each Commissionerate, he added.
 
CP said that the Centre for Development and Empowerment of Women will aid Police to make available counseling services pertaining to domestic violence closer to the communities that these centres will serve. CDEWS will have full-time counselors as well as other support staff, he added. CP opined that the CDEWs will act as a hub to the concerned Bharosa Centre and further strengthen uniform service delivery for victims of domestic violence.
 
CP further stated that Bharosa centre intends to facilitate immediate, emergency, and non-emergency access to a range of services including recording the 164 statement online, medical, legal, psychological, and counseling support to the POCSO, girls and women victims to fight against any form of violence against women. He stated that the building of Bharosa centre will be built with a budget of 1.75 Cr in 5500 Sq feet area and completed in a year.
 
Hon'ble HM has also inaugurated the new office building for She Teams and also for echallan and ITMS. The Traffic officers explained the guests about the ITMS Project.

Yuvraj Singh’s Foundation YouWeCan and Accenture Add 120 Critical Care Beds to Government General Hospital in Nizamabad, Telangana to strengthen healthcare infrastructure Hyderabad, July 28, 2021: Under its # Mission1000 Beds initiative, YouWeCan Foundation run by international cricketing icon Yuvraj Singh has set up 120 Critical Care Unit (CCU) beds at Government Medical College & General Hospital in Nizamabad, Telangana with financial support from Accenture (NYSE: ACN). Funds contributed by Accenture have also been used by YouWeCan Foundation to provide a variety of medical equipment such as BiPAP machines, ICU ventilators, patient monitors, crash carts, and oxygen cylinders to the hospital.

The facility was inaugurated virtually by Yuvraj Singh, today in the presence of Telangana Home Minister Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali. During the inauguration, Home Minister appreciated the initiative by Yuvraj Singh and his mother and said that it is a very good programme and it’s a moment of pride for her to have such a kind of son who is striving to help society with such initiatives.  On this initiative, Yuvraj Singh said, “We have all suffered tremendously during the second wave of COVID-19, including losing loved ones and struggling to procure oxygen, ICU beds, and other critical care facilities when our family members were fighting for their lives.

After witnessing such unprecedented crisis and loss of life all around as well as going through a personal loss myself, I felt the need to step up to support our healthcare providers and frontline workers in their fight against this deadly virus. Through our initiative #Mission1000Beds, we are setting up COVID-19 critical care facilities at hospitals across the country to increase existing capacities.” “Supported by Accenture, we are extremely happy to extend our initiative to the state of Telangana, by setting up 120 critical care beds at Government Medical College & Hospital in Nizamabad.” In May 2021, Accenture announced a USD 25 million (approximately INR 185 crore) commitment for COVID-19 relief efforts in India.

As part of its overall commitment, Accenture had announced that it will invest in strengthening the healthcare infrastructure in the country, augmenting existing hospitals with beds and ICUs, and set up oxygen plants. The company is collaborating with a number of non-profit organizations including the YouWeCan Foundation to accomplish this. In addition, Accenture has been providing COVID-19 support kits and PPE kits to frontline healthcare workers and providing food and COVID-19 at-home care kits to the unemployed and poor. It has also been engaged with the government to support vaccination camps and provide local language call-center support.
