CS Somesh Kumar holds a video conference with District Collectors, DM&HOs
Hyderabad: As per the instructions of the Honourable Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, IAS held Video Conference with District Collectors, Additional Collectors, DM&HOs, District Hospital/ Area Hospital Superintendents and other officials on steps to be taken to control Covid-19 from BRKR Bhavan today.
Chief Secretary emphasized the imperative need to judiciously and optimally to utilize the infrastructure and human resources for effective management of Covid control. He stressed the need to synergize the efforts of all the departments to combat Covid pandemic. He directed Health officials to have a triage in every hospital to effectively provide treatment based on patient condition. He also directed to make optimum use of Corona Care Centers (CCC) and patients with mild symptoms can be treated at these centres. He said that no patient should be denied treatment when they come to hospital.
Chief Secretary instructed District Collectors to ensure that every deserving patient get the right and timely treatment. He directed District Collectors to have a brief Tele-Conference twice a day with DM&HOs, Hospital Superintendents, RMOs and other concerned officials to assess the situation and strengthen the services. The District Collectors are empowered to draft personnel from other departments and also to recruit personnel on temporary basis, if necessary.
Chief Secretary asked District Collectors to ensure sufficient medical oxygen supplies are available in all Hospitals in the State. He stressed the need to judiciously utilize the oxygen which is precious at this moment and to ensure that not a single unit of oxygen is wasted. It was emphasized that effective management of present covid wave is largely depends on effective utilization of Oxygen.
Chief Secretary directed officials to convert, where ever essential available wards in to Covid wards with oxygen supported beds and ICU with Ventilators facility to accommodate more patients in the hospitals. He also suggested to utilize all the infrastructure and human resources available in teaching hospitals. Chief Secretary informed that the Government has sanctioned Rs.20 Crores to setup additional 12,000 beds with oxygen facility to augment the Covid situation in coming days. He instructed District Collectors to complete the task on war-footing basis.
