PJTSAU - UG Counselling begins

The combined counselling for admissions into undergraduate courses in  Agriculture, Veterinary and Horticultural begin here at Hyderabad on Wednesday. The counselling is conducting by the Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) at the University Auditorium in Rajendranagar.  Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor PJTSAU Dr V Praveen Rao has attended as chief guest and formerly inaugurated counselling by handed over the admission letter to Ms Manisha who secured 411 ranks in Telangana EAMCET-2019 and she opted to join in Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH), at college of Veterinary Science, Rajendranagar. After the inauguration of the counselling, Dr Praveen Rao has spoken and gave several advisers to the candidates and their parents about prospects & opportunities in agricultural courses.

Dr Rao told that Agriculture is the very important course which serves the 65 per cent of the population who are mainly depended on agriculture for their livelihood. He explained that in the agricultural sector several job opportunities are coming for the agricultural graduates who are successfully completed their course at UG and PG level. For the coming next 10 years he quoted a  survey done by the international organisation there is a demand more than a lakh agricultural graduates are required for the food sector in India and Globally he said. The demand for agriculture graduates is growing year by year he said. Further, he emphasized the agricultural graduate or scientist has a greater social responsibility to provide food for the people who should not suffer with hunger.

Candidates those who got the admission into agricultural courses are blessed, because they entering into a noble profession which caters the needs of the farmers as well as provides food for the people and may remove poverty in the society he added.  Dr Rao has stated that, within a short span of time PJTSAU has ranked one of the best agricultural university in the country. In south India PJTSAU has stood 1st among all agricultural universities and in all over the country it ranked 3rd best agricultural university according to the ranks given by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi. VC has announced that from the next year onwards one more agricultural college will be start at Adilabad.
 
Dr S Sudheer Kumar, Registrar PJTSAU, Dr J Sathyanarayana, Dean of Agriculture, other officers from veterinary and horticultural universities Dr Narasimhareddy, Dr.M. Padma have also graced the occasion.
