2 Lakhs plantation as Yadadri Model in Victoria Memorial Trust land
On the occasion of Minister of MA&UD K.Taraka Rama Rao’s Birthday, Minister of Education P.Sabitha Indra Reddy, and H.w.Mayor Dr.Bonthu Rammohan today formally launched plantation programme by planting tree saplings in Victoria Memorial Home Trust land to develop it as Yadradri Model Natural Forest here today.
The Victoria Memorial Trust land spread in about 10 acres and GHMC undertaken to develop it as Yadradri Model by planting trees, i.e. tall, medium, small plants in three levels, further to develop medicinal and flower saplings in between them. Once it develops it creates a pleasant ambience. It is proposed to plant about 2 lakhs plants by 31st July 2020. In all about 51 varieties of plants to be planted in 10 acres of land.
Speaking on the occasion the, Minister of Education Smt. P.Sabitha Indra Reddy said at present we are purchasing water, in this situation continues, in future we have to buy oxygen also, with the Chief Minister K.Chandra Shekar Rao’s future vision, in order to provide healthy environment the Haritha Haram programme is taken up. Further the Minister, thanked the Victoria Memorial Home Trust for allotting 10 acres of land for development of Yadradri Model and appealed to the people to participate in plantation programme. Earlier the entire land was filled with debris and garbage, with plantation the land will be protected, minister added.
H.w.Mayor Bonthu Rammohan said on the occasion of Minister of MA&UD K.Taraka Rama Rao’s Birthday, under Gift A Smile, to provide a clean environment to the citizens, plantation programme taken up to develop the trust land into big Yadradri Model a man made forest grown with a cost of Rs.35 Lakhs he added.
Corporator, Ms.Anitha Dayakar Reddy, Zonal Commissioner Upender Reddy, Additional Commissioner, bio-diversity G.Krishna and others participated in the programme.
