Vedanta- VGCB continues to scale-up community outreach activities to combat COVID-19 Pandemic
The entire world is facing unprecedented challenges due to COVID-19 pandemic and the number of positive cases are on a steady rise. As a responsible corporate, Vedanta is contributing through all possible means to overcome this challenging situation. Adding further in Vedanta's endeavor to extend the required support and helping the affected communities during these difficult times, Vedanta- Vizag General Cargo Berth (VGCB) provided essential groceries to 160 needy & affected families from Kotaveedhi & Chilakapeta area. Besides this Vedanta- VGCB carried out disinfectant fumigation using mechanized mist cannons at all prominent public places such as Sea Horse Junction, Kotha Road, Reading Room Centre, Kurupam Market, old Post Office area etc. in order to ensure the safety and hygiene of surrounding communities.
In line with Vedanta's philosophy of care and community welfare, Vedanta VGCB has set up a team of people to provide relief to the vulnerable and most needy sections of society who have been harshly impacted by the pandemic and have faced significant disruption in their livelihoods.
Vedanta - VGCB has extended several on-ground support activities such as handing over of N95 masks, alcohol- based sanitizers and hand gloves to Harbour Police Station of Visakhapatnam Port Trust and proactive fumigation of police stations and government offices to combat COVID-19.
Vedanta – VGCB will continue to support through all possible means to battle out this pandemic.
