NDA Coalition Finalizes Two MLC Candidates in Andhra Pradesh

Senior politician C. Ramachandraiah is set to become an MLC once again. Additionally, the Jana Sena Party is about to secure its first MLC seat. The NDA coalition has finalized its candidates for the two vacant MLC seats in the Andhra Pradesh MLAs' quota, with the by-election scheduled for the 12th of this month. Coalition leaders made this decision on Monday.

C. Ramachandraiah, a senior leader who joined TDP from YSRCP before the elections, has been given another opportunity to become an MLC by the party. For the other seat, the NDA coalition has finalized the name of P. Hariprasad, who is the political secretary to Jana Sena chief and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan. Both candidates will file their nominations on Tuesday. Given the NDA coalition's strength in the legislative assembly, their election as MLCs is considered a formality.

Before the assembly elections, C. Ramachandraiah and Sheikh Mohammad Iqbal, who were MLCs, resigned from YSRCP and joined TDP. Ramachandraiah was disqualified, while Iqbal resigned from his MLC post. This led to the necessity of the by-election for the two vacant seats.
