Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has taken a crucial decision. He has nearly finalized the implementation of a free sand policy starting from the 8th of this month. He has decided to reintroduce the free sand distribution scheme that was implemented during the previous TDP government's tenure five years ago. In this regard, the Chief Minister has issued directives to State Mines Minister Kollu Ravindra to take necessary actions. A committee under the chairmanship of collectors will be formed to oversee this scheme, and this committee will decide on the loading and transportation charges.

Actions Against Illegal Sand Distribution: Kollu Ravindra

Minister Kollu Ravindra criticized that the poor have been exploited for five years through the sand policy. He mentioned that procedures for the free sand distribution are being formulated. He assured that there will be continuous monitoring of sand distribution and attention will be given to sand storage centers. It has been decided that free sand will be provided to everyone. He accused the previous government of turning sand into a revenue source.

He clarified that strict actions will be taken against those involved in illegal sand distribution. Measures will be taken to ensure that sand distribution is not hindered even during rains. They will ensure that there are no technical issues in the free sand distribution.
