Pawan Kalyan Highlights Role of Chandrababu, Manda Krishna Madiga in SC Classification

The Andhra Pradesh Assembly held discussions today on the SC Classification Bill. During the session, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan praised two individuals for their pivotal roles in bringing the SC classification issue to its current stage—Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and MRPS founder-president Manda Krishna Madiga. He stated that while Manda Krishna Madiga initiated the movement, it was Chandrababu Naidu who carried it forward.
Pawan Kalyan highlighted that extensive discussions had previously taken place on SC classification, including broad deliberations on unrecognized castes. He mentioned his own keen interest in the issue and his engagement with progressive Dalit intellectuals.
He also pointed out that attaching caste names as surnames is mostly seen among upper castes, but Manda Krishna Madiga's choice to use his caste name as a surname was an act of bravery. Pawan Kalyan noted that the Mala community is predominantly found in Andhra Pradesh, while the Madiga community is more prevalent in Telangana, with variations in caste populations across other states as well.
He emphasized that since certain castes are dominant in specific areas, classification needs to be handled with utmost fairness. Pawan Kalyan concluded by stating that the Jana Sena Party wholeheartedly supports the SC Classification Bill introduced by the NDA government under Chandrababu Naidu's leadership.
