BCCI Announces Huge Reward for Team India; Champions Trophy Prize Money Tripled!

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a substantial cash reward of ₹58 crores for the Indian cricket team following their victory in the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy. Led by Rohit Sharma, Team India clinched the title without losing a single match, marking their third Champions Trophy win by defeating New Zealand in the final on March 9. This victory also ended a long wait for another major ICC trophy.

In an official statement, the BCCI said, “We are delighted to announce a cash reward of ₹58 crores for the team that won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This cash reward applies to the players, coaching and support staff, and members of the men’s selection committee.”

Under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, India displayed dominance throughout the tournament. They registered four remarkable wins before the final. Team India began their campaign with a convincing six-wicket victory over Bangladesh, followed by a six-wicket win against Pakistan. In the semifinals, they defeated Australia by four wickets before securing the title with a splendid win over New Zealand.

Acknowledging the team’s dedication and outstanding performance, BCCI President Roger Binny and Secretary Devajit Saikia expressed their delight in rewarding all involved. “The commitment of the players, coaching, and support staff, along with the selection committee members, is well-deserving of this reward. It gives us great pleasure to announce this recognition for their hard work and dedication,” they stated.

Earlier, the ICC awarded ₹19.50 crores in prize money to Team India for their Champions Trophy victory. The runners-up, New Zealand, received ₹9.70 crores.
