Amazon's Massive Layoff Plan: 14,000 Jobs at Risk

Amazon, the leading e-commerce giant, is reportedly preparing to deliver a major blow to its workforce by laying off approximately 14,000 employees. The company expects this move, part of its ongoing restructuring efforts, to result in annual savings estimated between Rs. 210 crores and Rs. 360 crores.
According to sources, the layoffs will primarily target managerial positions. As part of its restructuring strategy, Amazon has already reduced staff in its Communications and Sustainability departments. Now, the company is preparing for another round of layoffs involving 14,000 more employees.
During 2022 and 2023, Amazon laid off a total of 27,000 employees as part of its efforts to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
