Trump Faces Legal Setback as Court Upholds Transgender Rights

A U.S. court has ruled against former President Donald Trump’s orders restricting transgender participation in women’s sports and military service. After assuming office for a second term, Trump had banned transgender athletes from competing in women’s sports and revoked policies allowing transgender individuals to serve in the military. These decisions were legally challenged in federal court.

During a hearing yesterday, the court struck down Trump’s orders, citing the principle of equality. The ruling emphasized that while presidential orders hold authority, they cannot override constitutional rights granted to transgender individuals. The court also referenced the U.S. Declaration of Independence, which upholds the principle of equal rights for all individuals. As a result, Trump’s directives were officially suspended.

In a separate case, the court also reviewed a petition concerning the closure of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. Additionally, the court ruled against the immediate shutdown of USAID, stating that such an action would violate constitutional principles.
