Annamalai Targets Actor Vijay Over Political Entry

Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai has launched a sharp attack on actor Vijay, criticizing his political ambitions and accusing him of engaging in “work-from-home politics.” He questioned whether Vijay had decided to enter politics only after turning 50 and asked, “Where was Vijay at the age of 30? What was he doing?”
Annamalai dismissed Vijay’s political efforts as mere theatrics, asserting, “It is Vijay who is acting, not the BJP.” He further alleged that Vijay’s newly formed Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) party was functioning as the “B-team” of the ruling DMK. According to Annamalai, Vijay’s party is part of a secret agenda to help the DMK retain power in Tamil Nadu.
The BJP leader warned Vijay to think before making political statements beyond his scope. He challenged the actor to actively engage with the public and fight for their issues instead of “writing letters from film sets.” Annamalai also questioned Vijay’s understanding of people's problems, implying that the actor lacked real-world political experience.
