Mumbai Indians Player Served Legal Notice by PCB—Here’s Why!

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a legal notice to Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Corbin Bosch. The notice comes after Bosch initially agreed to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) but later signed a contract with the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians.
The South African cricketer made his international debut for South Africa earlier this year in a series against Pakistan. Impressed by his performance, PSL franchise Peshawar Zalmi acquired Bosch in the PSL Players’ Draft held in Lahore on January 13 for the league’s 10th edition.
However, following the injury of South African pacer Lizaad Williams, Mumbai Indians selected Bosch as a replacement, leading to his withdrawal from the PSL. PCB has expressed its displeasure over Bosch’s shift from PSL to IPL and has sent him a legal notice outlining the consequences of his decision. The board has also asked Bosch to provide an explanation.
The PSL began in 2016, and until now, the tournament has never coincided with the IPL. However, this year, the two leagues are set to take place within a short gap. Traditionally, the PSL is held before the IPL, but the schedule was delayed this year due to the upcoming Champions Trophy. The PSL is now set to begin two weeks after the IPL’s commencement, making it difficult for Bosch to participate in both tournaments.
Meanwhile, the IPL 2025 season is just five days away, with the mega tournament set to begin on March 22. The opening match will be held at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, where defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
