Akbaruddin Owaisi Criticizes Congress, Stages Walkout from Assembly

Majlis Party Legislature Leader Akbaruddin Owaisi strongly criticized the Congress government, stating that the Assembly should function as a legislative body and not like Gandhi Bhavan. Expressing dissatisfaction with the way the proceedings were being conducted, members of the Majlis party staged a walkout in protest.

Akbaruddin Owaisi alleged that the government had failed to manage the Assembly proceedings effectively. “Are you going to murder democracy in the House?” he questioned. He emphasized that the Telangana Legislative Assembly was not Gandhi Bhavan and urged the ruling party to acknowledge this distinction. He further complained that opposition members were not being allowed to speak and that microphones were not being given when they wished to express their views.

He criticized the ruling party for its approach, stating that it was improper to ignore members’ questions. He also alleged that questions were being altered and manipulated. In protest against the Congress government’s handling of the Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi announced a walkout, following which Majlis party members left the session.
