BCCI Imposes Two-Year IPL Ban on England’s Harry Brook

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken a significant decision against England cricketer Harry Brook, imposing a two-year ban from the Indian Premier League (IPL). Brook, who was bought by the Delhi Daredevils in the IPL auction, opted out of the tournament due to personal reasons. As a result, the BCCI has enforced a suspension in line with its latest regulations.
According to reports, the BCCI has also informed the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) about this decision. Under the new IPL rules, any player who withdraws from the tournament without a valid reason after being bought in the auction faces a two-year ban.
The Delhi franchise secured Brook for ₹6.2 crore in the IPL 2025 auction. Last year, he had missed the IPL season to be with his family following the passing of his grandmother.
