QS World University Rankings 2025: Indian Institutes Among Global Best for Engineering

The QS World University Rankings 2025 have been released, highlighting the global performance of universities across various disciplines. In the Electrical and Electronics Engineering category, IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay have secured positions in the top 50. IIT Delhi ranked 47th, while IIT Bombay was placed at 50th. However, IIT Delhi has seen a slight drop from its 45th position last year.

The rankings, which evaluate a total of 550 universities worldwide, once again placed the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the top position globally. Stanford University secured the second rank, followed by the University of California in third place. Notably, all three top-ranked universities are based in the United States.

Several Indian institutions have been featured in the rankings this year. The rankings for major Indian universities in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering category are:

IIT Delhi – 47th
IIT Bombay – 50th
IIT Kharagpur – 78th
IIT Madras – 84th
IIT Kanpur – 92nd
Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore – 146th
In the 151-200 rank range, the universities include Anna University (Chennai), IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee, and Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT).
BITS Pilani secured a place in the 251-300 range, while SRM University (Chennai) was ranked between 301-350. Chandigarh University was placed in the 401-450 range.
