Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah’s Presence at Ranya Rao’s Wedding Raises Questions Amid Smuggling Probe

A new development has emerged in the case involving actress Ranya Rao. BJP leader Amit Malviya shared a photo on social media platform X, showing Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah attending Ranya Rao’s wedding. Malviya alleged that the smuggling case involving Ranya Rao has now reached the Chief Minister’s doorstep. He also pointed out that Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara was present in the same photo.

Malviya criticized Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar for dismissing any political links to the case.

Ranya Rao was recently caught smuggling 14.2 kg of gold from Dubai at the Bengaluru airport. Authorities became suspicious as she frequently traveled to Dubai wearing similar attire. This led them to place her under surveillance, ultimately uncovering the smuggling operation.

Investigators have since intensified efforts to identify individuals connected to Ranya Rao in the smuggling case. As part of the probe, they are examining the guests who attended her wedding and the gifts she received. During this process, the photo of CM Siddaramaiah attending the event surfaced, raising further suspicions about potential links to the case.

Additionally, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) informed the court that an official assisted Ranya Rao in evading security checks at the airport and acted on instructions from higher authorities within the concerned department.
