TDP’s Buddha Venkanna Counters KTR’s Remarks

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Buddha Venkanna has strongly criticized Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President and former Telangana minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) over his recent remarks on investments in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. His response comes after KTR’s tweet, which suggested that while Andhra Pradesh was attracting investments, Telangana was not.

Buddha Venkanna alleged that KTR’s past remarks about TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu played a significant role in BRS’s decline. Referring to Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest in an alleged illegal case, he remarked, “Your government collapsed simply because of one statement—‘Protest in the neighboring state, not here.’”

He also criticized KTR’s father, former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), recalling that KCR had once mocked Chandrababu Naidu’s language skills by saying that he was not fluent in Hindi or English. “If you want to understand the impact of Chandrababu Naidu, ask your father, who is sitting in his farmhouse,” he said.

Addressing KTR’s comments on investments, Buddha Venkanna took issue with his use of the phrase “finally, Andhra Pradesh,” questioning the tone of his statement. He asserted that Andhra Pradesh had a strong brand identity under Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership and claimed that Chandrababu Naidu was the driving force behind the state's development. “Because of your careless statements, you lost power once, and now you are ensuring that your party never returns to power,” he added.
