AP CID Issues Notices to Vijaya Sai Reddy

The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) has issued notices to former YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former Rajya Sabha member Vijaya Sai Reddy. He is facing allegations of forcibly acquiring stakes worth ₹3,600 crore in Kakinada Sea Ports Limited (KSPL) and Kakinada SEZ (KSEZ) from their owner, Karnati Venkateswara Rao (K.V. Rao).
As part of the investigation, Vijaya Sai Reddy has been directed to appear before the CID regional office in Vijayawada on Wednesday morning. Two days ago, officials visited his residence to serve the notice, but as he was not present, the notice was handed over to his wife.
In this case, Vijaya Sai Reddy has been named as Accused No. 2 (A2), while Vikranth Reddy, son of Y.V. Subba Reddy—who is the paternal uncle of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy—has been named as Accused No. 1 (A1). The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had previously investigated Vijaya Sai Reddy in connection with alleged money laundering linked to the case, conducting inquiries two months ago. Now, the CID has stepped in to further probe the matter.
