"Do Not Travel to Pakistan": U.S. Issues Fresh Travel Advisory

The United States has issued a new travel advisory urging its citizens to avoid traveling to Pakistan due to a heightened risk of terrorist attacks. The advisory, released on Friday (U.S. time), warns that sudden attacks may occur, and it is safest to refrain from visiting the country unless absolutely necessary.

For those who have already made travel arrangements, the advisory specifically warns against visiting the border areas with India, as well as Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. It states that terrorist activities in these regions are unpredictable, with militants potentially targeting civilians for attacks.

The advisory also highlights the possibility of terrorist operations along the Line of Control (LoC), as well as military clashes in these border regions. Travelers are urged to consider these risks before planning any visit to Pakistan.

Furthermore, the U.S. advisory notes that terrorist groups may target crowded public places, transportation hubs, markets, and security personnel, including police and military forces. The Level 4 warning for the LoC area explicitly instructs U.S. citizens to avoid traveling there under any circumstances.

The advisory also mentions the presence of militant groups capable of launching cross-border attacks. It states that both Pakistan and India have deployed significant security forces along their borders, increasing tensions in the region.

For U.S. citizens traveling between Pakistan and India, the advisory clarifies that the Wagah Border is the only official crossing point. Travelers must obtain a visa in advance, as visas are not issued at the border. The advisory emphasizes that individuals should secure their visas before heading to the Wagah Border, as entry into India without proper documentation is not permitted.
