Good News for Builders in Andhra Pradesh

The coalition government in Andhra Pradesh has announced a new initiative benefiting builders. Going forward, construction approvals for buildings up to 18 meters in height or five floors will require only a self-certification affidavit. Builders will no longer need direct approval from town planning authorities.

However, property owners must submit the necessary documents in the presence of registered Licensed Technical Personnel (LTPs), engineers, or architects and provide a self-certification affidavit to proceed with construction.

Although the government had issued a Government Order (GO) last month introducing this new system for building permits, its implementation was delayed due to technical reasons. Now, the state government has made the updated system operational to speed up the building approval process.

Minister Narayana stated that the necessary software for granting construction permissions through self-certification has been integrated into the Andhra Pradesh Development Permission Management System (APDPMS) portal.
