Assembly Entry Protocol: Will Jagan Use Gate-4 Like Other MLAs?

The Andhra Pradesh Assembly budget session is set to commence tomorrow, during which the budget for the 2025-26 financial year will be presented. YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, along with other party MLAs, will be attending the session. It is well known that Jagan does not hold the status of the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly. Hence, he will be participating in the session as a regular MLA.

As per Assembly protocol, attendees must enter through designated gates based on their positions. The Governor, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Speaker, and Deputy Speaker enter through Gate No. 1, while ministers use Gate No. 2. MLAs and MLCs are required to walk in through Gate No. 4.

Since Jagan is now a regular MLA, he is expected to enter through Gate No. 4, which has become a topic of widespread discussion. Simultaneously, there is speculation on whether the Speaker will exercise his authority to grant Jagan permission to enter through Gate No. 1 instead.
