Authorities Deny Permission for Jagan’s Visit

Authorities have denied permission for YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s scheduled visit to the Guntur Mirchi Yard today, where he was set to meet with farmers. The district collector, who also serves as the district election officer, issued orders citing the enforcement of the model code of conduct due to the ongoing MLC elections. Officials warned that anyone violating the restrictions and entering the Mirchi Yard without authorization would face arrest.
Meanwhile, senior YSRCP leader and former minister Ambati Rambabu stated that Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to console farmers had no connection with the election code. He clarified that the party was not holding any public meetings but merely listening to farmers’ grievances. He also asserted that the YSRCP stands firmly in support of the farmers.
Despite the official denial of permission, YSRCP is reportedly proceeding with arrangements for Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit. According to the party’s released schedule, Jagan is set to depart from his residence in Tadepalli at 10 AM, reach the Mirchi Yard by 11 AM, and interact with farmers until noon before returning to Tadepalli. However, with the Election Commission’s restriction in place, uncertainty looms over the visit.
