Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has once again made controversial remarks about Wikipedia, this time offering to donate $1 billion to the platform—on the condition that it changes its name to an explicit and inappropriate term.

Wikipedia, a widely used online encyclopedia, provides free information to the public and operates primarily on donations. Users frequently see donation requests when accessing the website, as the Wikimedia Foundation, which runs Wikipedia, relies on public contributions to sustain its operations.

Musk, known for his outspoken social media presence, has previously criticized Wikipedia. In his latest remarks, he questioned why the Wikimedia Foundation needs to collect funds from users, suggesting that maintaining Wikipedia should not require such large sums of money.

"If they change their name to [an inappropriate term], I will give them $1 billion," Musk stated. He also implied skepticism about the platform’s financial needs, asking, "Have you ever wondered why the Wikimedia Foundation needs so much money?"
