Commuters Relieved as Guntur’s AT Agraharam Road Gets a Makeover

The Guntur road, which had deteriorated with potholes during the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government's tenure, has now been restored to a smooth and well-maintained condition under the coalition government. The reconstruction has alleviated the hardships faced by residents of the AT Agraharam area for the past three years. With an investment of ₹3 crore, the road has been repaired, and a divider has been installed to ease traffic flow. Commuters who once struggled to navigate the pothole-ridden stretch can now travel smoothly, and many are expressing gratitude to the new administration.

The AT Agraharam main road in Guntur, which serves as a key link between Hyderabad, Ongole National Highway, and various local colonies, has undergone a significant transformation. Previously, road repairs and expansion work had been assigned to a contractor. However, due to a lack of funds from the government, the contractor halted construction, leaving the road in disrepair. Large potholes were left unfilled, causing severe difficulties for motorists. The 1.6-kilometer stretch became hazardous, leading to numerous accidents and hospitalizations. Frustrated residents protested against the government’s inaction, but the YSRCP administration reportedly did not address the issue.

After the coalition government came to power, priority was given to rebuilding the AT Agraharam road. The ₹3 crore renovation project has restored the road to excellent condition, and the construction of a central divider has further improved safety and traffic management for the city's residents.
