Bird Flu Scare in Hyderabad and Nalgonda After Dead Chickens Found in Reservoir

Residents of Hyderabad and Nalgonda are gripped with fear after hundreds of dead chickens were discovered in the Akkampalli Reservoir in Nalgonda district. Authorities suspect that unidentified individuals dumped the carcasses into the reservoir.
The Akkampalli Reservoir is a crucial source of drinking water for Hyderabad and Nalgonda, intensifying public concern over a potential bird flu outbreak. Following the discovery, the district collector immediately ordered an investigation. Nalgonda Superintendent of Police (SP) Sharath Chandra has initiated a probe, while Devarakonda Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) and officials from the Irrigation Department have inspected the site.
With recent reports of rising bird flu cases, the incident has triggered heightened anxiety among the public. Residents are demanding strict action against those responsible for discarding the dead chickens into the reservoir. Meanwhile, officials have collected water samples for testing to assess any potential contamination.
