AP Minister Satya Kumar Questions the Message of Films Like Pushpa-2

Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar has made controversial remarks regarding the themes of recent films. Questioning the depiction of bandits and smugglers in cinema, he asked what kind of message such movies convey to society. He suggested that filmmakers should focus on the lives of great personalities who contributed to the development of their native places, as this would benefit society.

On Saturday, Satya Kumar attended the 23rd anniversary celebrations of Guru Raghavendra Educational Society in Nandyal as the chief guest. He unveiled the annual magazine and praised the institution for its reputation in coaching for banking jobs across the Telugu states. He stated that over 43,000 young men and women trained at the institution have secured jobs in banks. Congratulating the institution's founder, Peddireddy Dastagiri Reddy, Satya Kumar remarked that making films based on the lives of individuals like Dastagiri Reddy would be far more beneficial to society.

Expressing concern over the themes of contemporary films, he stated that it was surprising to see the kinds of stories being portrayed. He warned that glorifying criminal behavior in films could lead to a rise in such tendencies in society. He emphasized that filmmakers should create movies that serve a positive purpose for society. However, he clarified that his comments were not directed at any specific film.

Despite his clarification, there is widespread speculation that Satya Kumar’s remarks were aimed at the upcoming film Pushpa-2. His statements have sparked discussions across both Telugu states and have become a trending topic.
