Singer Mangli Denies Political Ties, Says Music Is Her Only Focus

Singer Mangli has revealed that she faced numerous insults for singing a song in support of the YSRCP before the 2019 elections. She stated that while she wants her songs to be celebrated in every household like festival songs, she does not want them to be associated with political parties. She also clarified that she has not sung for any party in the 2024 elections and has no political affiliations.
Mangli expressed her displeasure over being linked to political parties when she attends religious events. Recently, she visited the Arasavalli temple along with Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, which led to dissatisfaction among the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) cadre and stirred reactions on social media. In response, she issued an open letter addressing the controversy.
Mangli explained that before the 2019 elections, YSRCP leaders had approached her, and she sang a song for them. However, she insisted that she never spoke against any other political party. She clarified that she has sung for leaders across various parties, not just YSRCP. She also lamented that singing for YSRCP had cost her several opportunities.
Dismissing rumors that she had sung for Chandrababu Naidu, Mangli asserted that such claims were baseless and part of a misinformation campaign against her for political gain. She emphasized that she holds no political preferences or biases and is not a campaigner for any party. She urged people not to associate her songs with politics and reiterated that her primary focus is music.
