CM Chandrababu Naidu Inaugurates Material Recovery Center in Kandukur

Nellore: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited Nellore district today as part of his tour and participated in the Swachh Andhra program in Kandukur. During the event, he inaugurated a Material Recovery Center. Later, he held an interactive session with residents of Dubagunta village in the Kandukur constituency.

Speaking at the event, Chandrababu Naidu stated that plans were being formulated to convert waste into wealth. He instructed officials to educate the public on the segregation of wet and dry waste.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the village sarpanch is the primary representative of the people and should ensure cleanliness using panchayat funds. He asserted that it is the responsibility of sarpanches to develop every village into a model village. Going forward, he announced that all villages would be ranked based on cleanliness, and sarpanches who perform well would be recognized and honored. He urged collective efforts to transform Andhra Pradesh into a "Swachh Andhra Pradesh."

Chandrababu Naidu revealed that he had assigned a specific target to Minister P. Narayana, instructing the municipal department to ensure that by Gandhi Jayanti (October 2), no urban area in the state should have any visible waste. He criticized the previous government, alleging that 8.5 million metric tons of waste had accumulated under their administration and that even taxes had been imposed on waste management.
