Democracy Under Threat from Criminals in Politics, Says Chandrababu Naidu

Amaravati: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu held a meeting with senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders in Amaravati. Among those present were Nimmala Rama Naidu, Palla Srinivasa Rao, Chintamaneni Prabhakar, Ashok Babu, and KS Jawahar. The discussions focused on the upcoming Member of Legislative Council (MLC) elections and the welfare of TDP workers. During the meeting, Chandrababu Naidu made several sharp remarks.

He stated that the presence of criminals in politics poses a significant threat to democracy. Criticizing the previous administration, he alleged, "They spent five years destroying democracy and are now searching for new ways forward." He accused his political opponents of repeatedly spreading falsehoods in an attempt to make them appear as truth.

"They will go to any extent and sacrifice anyone for their selfish interests. They claim to support Dalits but are the first to betray them," Chandrababu Naidu alleged.

He further stated that acts of violence, destruction, and murders occur only under anarchic rule. Emphasizing his party’s commitment to democratic values, he asserted, "We believe in democracy and will always govern lawfully."
