CID DSP Found Dead Near Temple in Rajamahendravaram

A senior police officer, who began his career as a Sub-Inspector and later rose to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the Crime Investigation Department (CID), was found dead under suspicious circumstances near a temple in Rajamahendravaram. Initially unidentified, the deceased was later recognized as DSP B. Nagaraju, aged 54, from Aspari in Kurnool district.
According to police reports, locals discovered a body near the Sai Baba temple in the Gandhi Puram area, close to the SRMT warehouse, and immediately informed the authorities. Police arrived at the scene, sent the body for postmortem examination, and circulated a photograph in WhatsApp groups for identification. Shortly afterward, officials confirmed the deceased as CID DSP B. Nagaraju.
Nagaraju was transferred to the regional CID office in Rajamahendravaram a year ago. He was staying in a lodge while performing his duties but had been on medical leave since December of last year. He returned to Rajamahendravaram from Kurnool on February 2 and continued staying at the lodge while attending to work. His last conversation with family members took place on February 10, after which his phone was switched off.
Concerned by his lack of communication, Nagaraju’s family grew anxious. His son, Vamsikrishna, who resides in Hyderabad, traveled to Rajamahendravaram on February 13 to search for him. Upon inquiring, he learned that Nagaraju had not been attending work. Meanwhile, CID personnel recognized his photo shared in WhatsApp groups and alerted the Prakasham Nagar police.
Authorities have registered a case of suspicious death and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Nagaraju’s demise.
