IPL 2025 Season Opener: Date, Teams, and Venues Revealed

The schedule for the IPL 2025 season has been revealed, with key details reported by Cricbuzz. According to BCCI sources, the inaugural match of the season is set to take place on March 22 at Eden Gardens, featuring a clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

The 2024 runners-up, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), will play their first match the following day at Uppal Stadium, facing Rajasthan Royals (RR) in an afternoon encounter. The IPL 2025 final is scheduled to be held at Eden Gardens on May 25 (Sunday).

The report also lists Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Mohali (Mullanpur), Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Hyderabad as key venues for the tournament. Additionally, matches will also be hosted in Guwahati and Dharamshala.

Rajasthan Royals are expected to play two of their home matches in Guwahati on March 26 and March 30, facing Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Similarly, Punjab Kings (PBKS) are likely to host two home matches at Dharamshala.

Earlier, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla, during a special general meeting in Mumbai on January 12, had announced that IPL 2025 would begin on March 23.
