Tamil Actor Vijay's Party Leaders Hold Discussions with Political Strategist Prashant Kishor

Tamil film star Vijay, who recently announced his entry into politics, is preparing to contest the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. With more than a year left before the polls, he has already begun strategizing. As part of these efforts, leaders from his party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), held discussions with political strategist Prashant Kishor. This development has sparked significant political debate in the state.
Prashant Kishor, who previously worked with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) during the last elections, is now engaging with TVK leaders. According to sources, their discussions focused on the evolving political landscape in Tamil Nadu and the possibilities of forming alliances with other parties.
There is speculation in Tamil Nadu that Prashant Kishor might take on an advisory role for Vijay’s TVK. Reports also suggest that Kishor has estimated TVK's potential vote share to be between 15% and 20%. To further strengthen the party’s electoral prospects, strategies are being formulated. However, Tamil Nadu's established political parties appear to be dismissing TVK’s discussions with Kishor as insignificant.
DMK leader and state minister Sekarbabu remarked that every new party entering the elections claims it will receive votes, but ultimately, the DMK remains confident of victory. He expressed certainty that MK Stalin would once again be elected as the Chief Minister. Meanwhile, DMK leader Kanimozhi stated that her party had no objections if Prashant Kishor offered his services to another political party.
Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Balakrishnan commented that cinematic glamour alone is not enough to ensure electoral success. Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief Seeman declared that he had no faith in Prashant Kishor’s strategies.
Premalatha Vijayakanth, a leader from the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), asserted that TVK’s success would ultimately depend on Vijay’s leadership. She also clarified that DMDK remains aligned with the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and that any potential alliance with Vijay’s party would be up to TVK to initiate.
