Anchor Syamala Questions Chiranjeevi’s Heir Remark

Anchor and YSR Congress Party spokesperson Syamala has responded to Megastar Chiranjeevi’s recent remarks, questioning the idea that only a son can be considered an heir. She argued that daughters should also be acknowledged as successors.
"I didn’t understand... Does an heir have to be a son? Can’t it be a daughter? I’m not sure in what context Megastar Chiranjeevi made that statement, but it would be better if people moved beyond the mindset that only sons can be heirs," Syamala said.
She pointed out that such views are outdated, especially when women are excelling in various fields. "Women have made tremendous progress and are advancing in every sector. Even today, holding onto such beliefs is not appropriate. If we look at their own family, Upasana Konidela is a dynamic woman successfully leading an organization. Everyone knows how much she, her mother, and her sisters have achieved."
Syamala further stated, "That’s why I believe an heir can be anyone—it doesn’t have to be a son. But I don’t know what Chiranjeevi meant when he made that statement."
