Viral Video: Man Rescued from Heart Attack, Prioritizes Work Over Health

A passenger at Changsha Railway Station in China's Hunan province suffered a heart attack while waiting in line to board a train on February 4. Railway staff and a doctor on-site immediately administered CPR, reviving the 40-year-old man. However, his first words after regaining consciousness left everyone stunned.

Upon slowly opening his eyes, the man insisted that he needed to rush to his office and catch his high-speed train. His determination to return to work despite his near-death experience shocked both the medical professional and other passengers present. Many onlookers were moved by his reaction, questioning the pressures that could drive someone to prioritize work over their health. Some speculated about his difficult financial situation, wondering what circumstances could force him to act this way immediately after surviving a medical emergency.

Despite refusing hospitalization at first, fellow passengers and railway staff persuaded him to board an ambulance. They urged him, saying, “You barely escaped death—your priority should be going to the hospital, not the office.”

The incident went viral on social media after South China Morning Post reported it. A video clip of the event drew emotional responses from netizens, with one comment particularly resonating: “He is not alone; many of us live under similar pressures. From home loans to children’s education, we are constantly burdened by responsibilities. Surviving in this world is not easy.”
