Telugu Films Should Prioritize Telugu Actors, Says Brahmaji

Actor Brahmaji, known for his versatility and ability to portray different shades of characters, continues to have a busy career in the Telugu film industry. In a recent interview with 'Hit TV,' he shared his thoughts on his journey, industry trends, and the diminishing presence of Telugu actors in Telugu cinema.
"I did not enter the industry with the dream of becoming a hero. That is why I have no regrets about my career. There was a time when directors believed that only a particular artist could do justice to a role, and they would go to great lengths to cast that actor. Even if such artists caused difficulties, the industry would tolerate them. But things have changed now. If one actor is unavailable, they already have a list of four others ready," said Brahmaji.
The actor also spoke about how he has sustained his career in the industry. "People say, 'Brahmaji performs well, is fun to work with, and adjusts easily.' I have earned a reputation for being punctual, hassle-free, and professional. This goodwill has helped me stay in the industry for so long. Directors and producers have always respected and continued to work with me. If someone hurts me, I address it immediately instead of letting it slide with a casual laugh," he said.
Expressing concern over the decreasing presence of Telugu actors in Telugu films, Brahmaji remarked, "Recently, I watched a Telugu film where I had to search for Telugu actors. The lead roles, along with other significant characters, were played by Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi artists, while Telugu actors were given minor roles. This deeply saddened me. In such cases, why not simply make the film in another language and dub it in Telugu? That is why I recently spoke about the need to give more opportunities to Telugu actors," he stated.
