Indian captain Rohit Sharma delivered a stunning century in the second ODI against England at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. He reached his hundred in just 76 balls and went on to score 119 runs off 90 deliveries, hitting 12 fours and 7 sixes.
This was Rohit Sharma’s first ODI century since the 2023 World Cup match against Afghanistan. After struggling with form in recent times, his return to scoring big runs has drawn widespread appreciation.
Several of his teammates, including Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and former cricketer Yuvraj Singh, took to social media to congratulate him.
Suryakumar Yadav, currently leading India's T20 team, wrote on his Instagram story, "Good things always happen to good people. God is great."
Hardik Pandya, sharing his excitement, posted on Instagram, "What an amazing atmosphere in Cuttack! Rohit Sharma was sensational."
Yuvraj Singh, who once shared the dressing room with Rohit Sharma, also lauded his comeback. He tweeted, "He made a powerful comeback with an explosive innings! You can't keep the Hitman silent for long. Answering with the bat is just amazing!"
Apart from Rohit's century, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and Axar Patel also made key contributions, helping India chase down England’s target of 305 with 33 balls to spare.
With this win, India sealed the three-match ODI series 2-0. The victory comes as a confidence booster for Team India ahead of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.
