Chiranjeevi Says 'Jai Janasena' for the First Time, Mentions Praja Rajyam Party After Many Years

The pre-release event of the film Laila, directed by Ram Narayan and starring Vishwak Sen, was held in Hyderabad on Sunday. The film, produced by Sahu Garapati, is set to release on February 14, coinciding with Valentine's Day. Megastar Chiranjeevi attended the event as the chief guest and made remarks that caught the audience's attention.

During his speech, fans in the crowd started chanting "Jai Janasena." In response, Chiranjeevi also said, "Jai Janasena," marking the first time he has publicly uttered the slogan. Additionally, he spoke about the Praja Rajyam Party, a topic he has largely avoided for many years. Chiranjeevi remarked that the Praja Rajyam Party had transformed into Janasena, a statement that delighted his supporters.

The Praja Rajyam Party was founded by Chiranjeevi in 2008. In the 2009 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, the party contested all 294 seats and secured 18 seats with an 18% vote share. Chiranjeevi himself contested from two constituencies—Palakollu and Tirupati—winning from Tirupati.

In 2011, Chiranjeevi merged the Praja Rajyam Party with the Congress. Since then, he has rarely spoken about it. While his younger brother Pawan Kalyan has occasionally referenced the party, Chiranjeevi had largely remained silent on the matter. His recent statement, declaring that Praja Rajyam had evolved into Janasena, has been met with enthusiasm by his fans.
