Chandrababu Naidu Slams Previous Govt Over Liquor Mafia and Misgovernance

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu addressed the media following the BJP’s significant victory in the Delhi Assembly elections. He described the result as a historic win for the party, attributing it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong leadership and stable governance. Chandrababu Naidu remarked that this victory was not just for the BJP but for the entire nation.

Chandrababu Naidu criticized the previous administration in Andhra Pradesh, alleging that they manipulated liquor policies for financial gain. He stated, “Families involved in liquor scandals will not prosper. That is sinful money. No government has the right to destroy the health of the poor for their own enjoyment. They ran a liquor mafia and ruined the system.”

He further accused the previous government of extravagant spending, stating, “In Rushikonda, a place where sages once meditated, they built palaces. They constructed a Sheesh Mahal in Delhi as well. Yet, they did not even step into those palaces. They took loans amounting to ₹10 lakh crore. It is easy to create destruction, but constructive governance is difficult. Every government must ensure welfare and development for the people. That is the essence of stable governance.”

Speaking about his arrest, Chandrababu Naidu claimed that protests erupted in 60 countries in support of him. He also referenced protests in Telangana, alleging that authorities attempted to suppress them. “They tried to crush protests in Telangana, but we all saw what happened,” he remarked.

Chandrababu Naidu compared his leadership to that of Narendra Modi, stating, “In 1995, I awakened the people. Today, Narendra Modi is doing the same. I am providing governance that brings satisfaction to the people. If any officer or party worker commits a mistake, I take full responsibility.”

Chandrababu Naidu also criticized what he described as misinterpretations of his governance strategies, particularly regarding the use of technology in administration. “I instruct my ministers to clear files promptly using technology, but my statements are being twisted. They are even ridiculing the concept of WhatsApp governance. Instead of addressing public concerns, they are misleading people with false narratives,” he alleged.
