A Political Leader Spoke Ill of Me: Chiranjeevi

Megastar Chiranjeevi participated in an event organized under the aegis of the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust. During his speech, he shared an interesting anecdote about a past incident. Chiranjeevi stated that he had attended the unveiling ceremony of the Alluri Sitarama Raju statue alongside the Prime Minister. Following this, a political leader allegedly made disparaging remarks about him. Chiranjeevi clarified that he had already distanced himself from politics at that time.

"I was invited to the event out of respect, encouragement, my West Godavari roots, or possibly due to my celebrity status. That’s why I attended. However, this political leader spoke about me in a derogatory manner. I couldn’t understand why he said such things. Since his words weren’t based on truth, they didn’t affect me. I did not feel hurt. Instead, he merely revealed his own nature," Chiranjeevi stated.

Chiranjeevi further explained that he usually does not respond to such remarks. However, his admirers often react to such incidents. To illustrate this, he recounted an example:

"When this political leader visited flood-affected areas in East Godavari, a woman scolded him in harsh words. She wasn’t part of the mass audience; she appeared to be a dignified lady from a wealthy farmer’s family. She even warned him that he would face consequences upon his return. Someone sent me a video clip of this incident," Chiranjeevi revealed.

He added that if a regular fan had reacted in such a manner, he would have felt bad and dismissed it as emotional outrage. However, he was particularly intrigued by this woman’s reaction and wanted to learn more about her.

"When my team reached out to her, she said, ‘Chiranjeevi is like a god to us.’ Interestingly, she wasn’t just my fan—she watched movies of all heroes, including mine. When asked why she reacted so strongly against that leader, she said, ‘Because he saved my child’s life.’"

Chiranjeevi then shared the woman’s emotional story:

"She called an 8-year-old boy and said, ‘He had dengue, his platelet count dropped dangerously, and doctors said he wouldn’t survive without a blood transfusion within two days. We couldn’t find blood even at Rajahmundry Government Hospital. Someone advised me to call Chiranjeevi Blood Bank, assuring me that they would definitely help. I hesitated, wondering how Hyderabad could provide blood for a patient in Rajahmundry, but I called anyway.

The moment my call was received, the dedicated staff in Hyderabad informed Swaminayudu, who immediately took action. Within no time, five or six young donors came forward and donated blood. Thanks to them, my son’s life was saved. Now tell me, if a man who saved my dying child is insulted, should I stay silent? How could that leader speak ill of such a great person?’"

Chiranjeevi concluded by emphasizing the impact of his charitable initiatives and the deep emotional bond people have with him.
