'RC 16' Update: Rathnavelu’s Clues Spark Speculation on the Film’s Plot
The highly anticipated film RC 16 (working title), starring Global Star Ram Charan and directed by Uppena fame Buchi Babu Sana, is currently progressing at a rapid pace. The film’s key sequences, featuring Charan and other principal cast members, are being shot intensively.
Speculation about the movie’s storyline has been circulating online for some time. Initially, reports suggested that the film would be based on the life of Kodi Rammurthy. However, cinematographer Rathnavelu has now hinted at the film’s premise through a post on X (formerly Twitter).
"Night shoots, floodlights, power cricket, and unique angles," Rathnavelu wrote in his post, leading fans to speculate that the story could revolve around a cricket match between two villages. Additionally, the cinematographer had previously revealed that certain portions of the film were being shot using negative and film cameras, ensuring a raw and natural visual appeal.
Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor, who is making her Telugu debut with Devara, plays the female lead opposite Ram Charan in RC 16. Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar is set to portray a powerful role, while Jagapathi Babu will also be seen in a significant character. Academy Award-winning composer A.R. Rahman is providing the film's music.
