Mentor Yuvraj Singh Praises Abhishek Sharma; Opener’s Witty Reply Goes Viral

Indian opener Abhishek Sharma delivered a spectacular performance in the fifth and final T20I against England at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The young batsman smashed 135 runs off just 54 balls, tearing through the English bowling attack. Notably, Abhishek reached his century in just 37 balls and struck 13 sixes in his innings.
It is well known that former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has been a mentor to Abhishek Sharma, guiding him in his cricketing journey. Under Yuvraj’s mentorship, Abhishek has honed his skills and is now making a significant impact while representing Team India. His performances have justified the faith his mentor placed in him.
Expressing his joy at his protégé’s success, Yuvraj Singh took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his pride. "Well played, Abhishek. I always believed you belonged at this level, and today you proved it. Proud of you," Yuvraj wrote in his post.
After the game, Abhishek responded to Yuvraj's post, expressing relief that it didn't include a 'flying chappal.'
"This might be the first time Yuvraj has tweeted without saying, 'I will send a chappal.' Finally, he is proud of me, and that makes me very happy," Abhishek said.
