Visakhapatnam MP Sribharat Makes Key Remarks in Lok Sabha

Visakhapatnam TDP MP Sribharat made significant comments in the Lok Sabha regarding recent political developments in Andhra Pradesh. He stated that the current government should not act in the same manner as the previous one, as doing so would amount to disregarding the people's mandate. He emphasized that their efforts would focus on strengthening public trust in the government.
During the debate on the motion of thanks to the President’s address in the Lok Sabha on Monday, Sribharat alleged that the previous government engaged in vendetta politics, citing the arrest and imprisonment of their leader, Chandrababu Naidu. He claimed that the government that came to power in 2019 used fear as a weapon against the people.
He accused the previous administration of creating unrest in the state and forcefully taking control of Kakinada Port, only to later return it. He also alleged that there was an attack on the university where he served as chairman and that their party members and supporters faced harassment. As a response to these actions, he said, the people strongly backed their party’s candidates in the graduate MLC elections. He further alleged that the then-government, fearing this response, arrested their leader.
Sribharat stated that the people supported change in response to such actions. In a veiled reference to the YSR Congress Party, he remarked that while it may be possible to deceive some people for a while, it is impossible to mislead everyone forever. He affirmed that their government, with the support of the central government, is committed to building a strong democratic system in the state.
