73 Railway Stations in Andhra Pradesh to Get a New Look: Ashwini Vaishnaw

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw held a press conference in Delhi today, providing updates on ongoing railway projects across various states. During his address, he highlighted railway developments in Andhra Pradesh, stating that projects worth ₹84,559 crore are already in progress in the state. He clarified that this was the reason Andhra Pradesh was not given a special mention in the budget.

Vaishnaw announced that ₹9,417 crore has been allocated for railway development in Andhra Pradesh. He stated that the current government has allocated 11 times more funds compared to the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) era.

As part of the modernization efforts, 73 railway stations in Andhra Pradesh will undergo a complete transformation. These stations will be equipped with modern amenities to enhance passenger convenience.

The minister also revealed plans to introduce more Vande Bharat trains for Andhra Pradesh. He stated that eight Vande Bharat trains are currently operating across 16 districts of the state. To support higher-speed train operations, railway tracks in Andhra Pradesh are being upgraded to accommodate speeds of 110 km/h, with some routes being prepared for speeds ranging from 130 km/h to 160 km/h.

Vaishnaw praised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for his full cooperation in ensuring the swift progress of railway projects in the state.
