Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Announces Kavach Center in Secunderabad

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that a Kavach Center for Excellence will be established in Secunderabad. Speaking to the media in Delhi on Monday, he stated that additional Vande Bharat trains will be introduced from Telangana. He also mentioned that Kazipet Railway Station is being developed, but some approvals are still pending, leading to delays.

Vaishnaw elaborated that the Kavach safety system is being implemented at key railway stations. He revealed that 1,026 kilometers of railway tracks in Telangana will be equipped with the Kavach system. He further assured that by 2026, the Kavach technology will be made available across the country. As part of this initiative, the Kavach Center for Excellence will be set up in Secunderabad.

The minister stated that currently, five Vande Bharat trains are operational from Telangana. He also informed that all railway lines in the state have been fully electrified. Additionally, he emphasized the government’s efforts to support the underprivileged by launching Namo Bharat trains. He disclosed that nearly 100 Namo Bharat Express trains will soon be introduced nationwide.
